Colt & Sami Kennington (Peggy Rozier)

I suppose it is our turn to update the family on our recent life activities. This is Sami writing as Colt takes an online quiz. We had a lovely Christmas in Texas visiting my family, but we definitely missed visiting family in Fresno as well. We are now both back to school and getting started on our new semester. We really like living in Utah but we definitely aren’t a big fan of the snow. I am such a baby I had to get a huge red coat to survive this winter, as seen below.

Colt is taking Organic Chemistry, Physics, and International Economics this semester. If you told me I had to take those classes I would probably cry because science is definitely not my thing. Luckily I don’t have to worry about him because he is definitely smart enough for those classes. He is also working as a research assistant at the University Of Utah School Of Medicine. He works in the anesthesiology department studying pain mechanisms associated with Fibromyalgia. I felt like I was writing a scientific research paper with that last sentence, but that’s what he says he does. He loves it and comes home with good stories for me every day. He has about two years left of school before he plans to apply for med school. In other news he received snowboarding lift tickets for his birthday and he is really excited to go. He has chosen me as his honored guest and I am terrified…oh whoops I mean I can’t wait. Still building my courage for that one.

This semester I am taking Communications, Anatomy, LDS marriage and Family, and 4 major classes.  I like my classes so far, although anatomy is a little frightening. I work as a waitress in the Skyroom Buffet on the sixth floor of the Student Union on campus. I really like my job and my co-workers and am grateful I don’t have to drive to work in the snow every day. FUN FACT: Peggy also worked at the Skyroom when she was living in Provo. Fun little family connection there. As for school, I should finish in Winter 2014 if all goes as planned. Other than all of the above I like to find recipes on blogs or pinterest and have Colt test them out for me. He doesn’t seem to mind.

Together in our free time we like to go to three dollar movies and we drive to a Spanish Fork theater so Colt can get his large popcorn for three bucks. He loves popcorn so much…he says it runs in the family. We also like to play games and go on dates in Salt Lake City because sometimes that is just more exciting. We also teach the 12-13 year old Sunday School Class in our ward and we have a lot of fun doing that. It is our first official calling together and it is fun to prepare the lessons.

We have been married for ten months… it will be eleven this Friday. For our anniversary we plan to go to Denver, Colorado on a mini anniversary trip. We don’t really have a reason as to why we chose Denver except that we didn’t want to go to Vegas and we didn’t want to drive really far, so Denver was our best choice. It seems crazy to us that it has almost been a year but we are loving life together and can’t wait for all the years to come. So that’s our life update for you. Sorry it is a little boring, but that’s how it goes when you go to school all week I suppose. Thanks for taking the time to read it anyway.

Sincerely,

Colt and Sami Kennington
